MARCH 2001 MARCH 4 :
Once again our local weather forecast predicted apocalyptic rain fall for race day that never materialized. So the race scheduled for March 4th turned into a practice day for those of us who showed up. MARCH 17 :
A perfect spring day for the last race in March. Good turn-out in all of the classes.Rich Democh turned a personal best of 196.913 MPH with some help from John Newton. Jack Boudakian tried out a new drum valve intake in one of his 10cc cars. He says that there is more playing to do with the set up, but he is encouraged with the performance so far. 5cc is 5cc with a lot of the same results. The only thing different is that Harold McCoy was running his record setting Holiday. Keith Gerard & Randy Bowyer showed up to run there 3.5cc monza cars. The cars seamed to be temperamental as Keith was only able to get in one timed run. Dave Lundegard's McCoy hot rod has been very consistent, running 91 mph times the past few races. Visitors at the track this week included long time speed plane racer and builder John Newton. Dorothy Frymire, her daughter, and son-in-law also stopped buy to visit and to remind everyone about the garage sale she is having on March 31st.
