FEB. 17, 2001
Good  turn-out for only the second meet of the year. The weather was more like February with temperatures in the lower 70's. A new 1.5cc national record was set by John Bridges. His German built car went 148.811 mph beating the old record by over 4 mph. It was a treat to hear this little car run at  over 40,000 rpm.
The 5cc class is drawing a sizable number of cars with a total of 7 signed up to run today. With all of this activity in the world classes and the world meet being held in New York this year,  Maybe we will see some Americans in the top ranks in several classes.
Members are encouraged to come out to the next couple of meets to help participate in the presentation of the honorary AMRCA lifetime membership to Dick McCoy. Come out and be a part of history and honor one of the pioneers of our sport. In other news, there will be a garage sale to sell off the remaining inventory of Fryco Engineering. The sale is scheduled for March 31, 2001. For more information call Loyd  Torrey
